Travel Protocol

What is the time zone of St. Croix? In May, St. Croix is on Atlantic Standard Time, which is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time

What is the weather like on St. Croix?

St. Croix has amazing weather year-round. Average highs in May are 86 degrees, lows are 75 degrees.

Will I be traveling outside of the United States? St. Croix is a US Virgin Island in the Caribbean & is considered a part of the US. 

Will I need a passport to get there? Because it’s a US territory, you don’t need a passport to travel to this beautiful island! 

What airport do I fly into? St. Croix has its own airport, STX.  The two major airlines that fly in with large planes are Delta and American Airlines. Air travel is not included in your package, and you must fly into STX on your own. 

Are Air Transports included? No. You must book your own transport to and from the airport.

Are Shuttles between the resorts included? Yes. All transportation between The Fred and Carambola is included with your package.

We will have shuttles that go to and from the Fred at all times (there will be a posted schedule). The ride is beautiful, and in the day, we’ll have open air “Safari’s”  set up for our guests. You’ll get to enjoy the beautiful island views while heading over to some serious FUNK. At the Fred, Carambola guests will have the Fred spa as their own space. You’ll be able to store your backpack, have your own bathroom and shower and a home away from home space. We have everything you need at the Fred, so you don’t have to worry about going back and forth! I mean, let’s be honest here, we’re going to be in the pool, in the ocean or watching music (or all 3) so no need to bring much with you.

What is the currency of St. Croix? Because St. Croix is a US territory, the US Dollar is the currency. 

Is Travel Protection (Travel Insurance) included?


Jade Events recommends the company Travel Insured. Travel Insured is well- known in the trip insurance industry & provides superior customer care and claim service. When you add a plan to your trip, you protect your trip and your investment. Plans offer travel insurance benefits for Trip Cancellation/Interruption, Travel/Baggage Delay, and Accident and Sickness Medical Expense. Plans also include 24/7 Worldwide Non-Insurance Assistance Services.

Coverage may be purchased up until the day before your trip, but any pre-existing conditions will only be covered if you purchase travel insurance within 21 days of booking, or 21 days of being named in a reservation. Coverage for all benefits except trip cancellation will begin on the departure date. The trip cancellation benefit will begin at 12:01 AM on the day after Travel Insured receives your application. 

Travel Insured also offers Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)*. The Cancel for Any Reason option is only available when specifically requested on the original application and the appropriate plan cost has been paid. The Cancel For Any Reason benefit must be purchased within 21 days of the date your initial trip deposit is received by us. CFAR can offer coverage for  up to 50% of the nonrefundable trip cost. Trip cancelation must be 48 hours or more prior to your scheduled departure date for any reason outside of the covered circumstances. Additional terms apply.

*This benefit is not available to residents of New York State.

How do I cancel / change my reservation?              

THE EVENT is a rain or shine event. Because our event is coming up soon, there are no refunds for this event. We highly encourage all of our guests to purchase travel insurance for your trip. 

Rooms & Hotels

Do I need any special adapters for the electrical outlets?

No. Your standard North American 110-120v plugs will work in all outlets.


Does the resort provide beach towels, or do we need to provide our own? Yes, the resort provides towels. You may also bring your own.

Are meals included? Those staying at the Carambola will have a grab-n-go breakfast available every morning until you get over to the Fred for our free brunch.  Carambola does have brunch and meals available but they are not a part of the free brunch package offered at the Fred.          

Covid 19 Plan

We are taking all precautions to keep our intimate event safe. Our staff and local vendor will be following strict safety procedures.

All patrons attending the event are required to have a negative test within 72 hrs before  attending our event.  PCR & Antigen tests are accepted. 

The link for all the current Covid protocol for St. Croix can be found on their portal website. It is frequently updated so please check in often prior to your trip. 

All Travelers

All domestic travelers ages 5+ and all international travelers ages 2+ in your travel party who enter the U.S. Virgin Islands by air or sea are required to use the USVI Travel Screening Portal and get cleared to travel to the USVI.

Domestic Travel (includes U.S. mainland and other U.S. Territories): If fully vaccinated, no test is required. You will need to provide proof of valid vaccination status. 

International Travelers (including travel from the BVI): All International travelers must submit a negative antigen (antigen) or NAAT (e.g., RT- PCR) COVID-19 test result. Test requirements depend on vaccination, mode of travel, and age.
